Concrete terrace floors are rarely synonymous with trend. But with colored paint, brushes and your will, it could be reversed. So, ready to start this DIY workshop? Let's go for a deco concrete terrace and modern!
Materials needed to carry out the DIY workshop:
- Extreme climate floor paint, clay, shaded earth and carbon, V33
- Acrylic roll
- Exterior masking tape (large)
- Flat brush
- Masking tape
Step 1: Clean the floor of the concrete deck
Before you start laying the masking tape on the floor it is necessary to clean the terrace with a shampoo-water mixture. To do this, use a watering can filled with this mixture and pour the product on the concrete floor. In order to thoroughly penetrate the cleaner, scrub the surface of your deck with a broom. Your exterior is all clean!
Step 2: Draw the grounds on the ground of the concrete terrace
Begin by measuring the spaces between future patterns that will appear on your concrete floor. Once the measurements are taken and drawn, you can stick masking tape on the demarcations you drew on the ground. Your 3 paint colors will be well demarcated.
Step 3: Clear the corners and edges of the concrete deck
Put your paint in the corners and edges of your concrete deck with a brush. This will allow you to have a uniform color on the entire terrace.
Step 4: Paint around masking tape strips
As for the edges and corners of the deck, paint a layer of paint around the masking strips.
Step 5: Paint the floor of the concrete deck with a paint roller
Take a paint roller and apply the color to the floor of the concrete deck. Do the same with a second and then third color. Then leave to dry for 8 hours.
Step 6: Put a second coat of paint on the floor of the concrete deck
Once the first coat dries, you can paint a second coat of paint on the first one. Then let the color dry for 24 hours.
Step 7: Remove the masking tape from the floor of the concrete deck
The painting is finally put. You can now remove the masking tape gently so that the color does not overflow.
