A design houseboat as a house near Berlin

Jean-Marc Palisse

A few kilometers from Berlin, a former financier settled in a barge on the banks of the Spree. A veritable designer haven full of trendy furniture, this houseboat is an invitation to relax. Guided visit signed International Decoration.

Former financier, Chris Laugsch has bought with his brother, graphic designer, this barge already arranged and moored. He had a real favorite for the decoration, the sober design, and the discreet colors that do not interfere with the view. A stay on the Modern Boat, like a retreat, on this part of the river where one is almost still in the countryside, between reeds and ducks ... a few kilometers from Alexanderplatz!

Designed for four adults or two adults and two children, it is rented at night, all year and, if you are in possession of your river license, maneuvering thanks to its engine! Chris provides the catering service if you do not want to use the large and friendly kitchen (small supermarket a few minutes) and you lend 2 bicycles to walk the banks to the heart of the city.

In the room, a Condesa chair.

In the kitchen, the floor and the worktop are in Pandomo, a variety of polished concrete.

Moored in a wild environment, the barge is nevertheless close to Berlin.

In the living room, sofas turn into bed. Air conditioning is available all year long and the heat is diffused by a Danish Aduro stove.

Chris Laugsh, former banker, and his graphic designer They immediately fell for the subdued style and the subdued colors that provided a subtle frame for the beautiful view. A stay on the Modern Boat feels like a retreat on this part of the river which is almost in its way to the reeds and ducks that surround it ... yet it's only a few kilometers from Alexanderplatz!

Designed for four adults or two adults and two children, the houseboat can be rented on a nightly basis or all year round. Chris provides a catering service if you do not feel like using the wide and inviting kitchen (a grocery store is just minutes away)

Most of the furniture in the bathroom, bedroom and living room has been custom made of untreated pine.
