The Marine sculptures of Soos invited to Villandry

The nature, the elements, the universal being inspire the works of the marine sculptor of Soos. Their serene poetry as the grace of their movements have seduced Henri Carvallo, the owner of Château de Villandry, who invited four of them to celebrate in beauty ten years from his sun garden.

Africa from his childhood in Djibouti, her smells, this land that she trampled barefoot, she has not forgotten anything. For more than twenty years, Marine of Soos kneads his admiration for the beauty of the world, his poetry, his light, his brothers here or elsewhere. Come to her by chance, the modeling has become obvious. Trained in the Parisian workshop of the American sculptor Jonathan Hirschfeld to the technique, on armatures of metal or wood, "lost wax bronze", Marine has adopted the path. Eyes closed, she visualizes the moment of fleeting grace captured during a scene of life or during one of her traveling in a country that remains authentic, Ethiopia, Burma, Indonesia... "I feel the vibrations that surround me very intensely.This is so strong in me that, back in my studio, I retranscribe the freshness of my emotion directly into volumes, without even needing to draw! "

The marine sculptor of Soos ensures the installation in the "Garden of the Sun" of its Grand Badjo, a 2.53 m high bronze evoking the grace of these nomads of the sea that populate Indonesia.

Once the right frame is made, it takes months for the artist to shape in a quasi-carnal exchange, climb, refine his room before it is entrusted to the moulder. Then, let the molten bronze and finally, assembled the different pieces. Until the end, Marine accompanies his workrectify the detail of a gesture, the fold of a face. The themes dear to his heart are the tenderness of motherhood or childhood, the tranquility of fishing and water, the harmony of an attitude, all that life offers us of universal and fraternal, at the crossroads of civilizations, "the soul of the world", so to speak. Henri Carvallo, owner of the Villandry estate, chose four of his works, Pusher of the Moon, Great Fisherman on stilt, Big Badjo, Great Flutist, for celebrate the ten years of his "Sun Garden" to star lanes, drawn by Louis Benech. Then, Marine will find her Parisian workshop to honor the collectors orders, galleries, architects, companies... in parallel with his personal work. An alternating breathing that nourishes his inspiration.
