The project in brief

Location: Brabant Wallon, not far from Brussels in Belgium.

Area : 29 m2 kitchen, fully open to the dining room.

Works duration : Approximately three months of design before manufacturing and installation of the facilities.

Idea: Thinking of the kitchen as an extension of the living room and not as a classic kitchen, highlighting high quality materials, imagine a rather cozy atmosphere.

A kitchen thought as a second piece of life

Imagine a kitchen like a real living room was the main goal of this achievement. The owners were looking foran atypical space, which does not look like a classic kitchen but rather a natural extension of the dining room. The professionals of William Concept - in charge of the project - therefore studied the surface to give life to the final plan. No partition did not fragment the piece in two, history of do not alter the overall volume. The kitchen and the dining room have merged into this 100% open space. An impression reinforced by the fireplace, integrated into the structure of the house. This fireplace breathes a cocooning atmosphere in the kitchen and blurs even more the border with the living room.

The kitchen opens entirely on the dining room to emphasize the beautiful volume of the room.

If this kitchen "to live" slips naturally in the decor of the dining room, it still retains its individuality. The L-shaped configuration of the room has resulted in separate areas: the central island concentrates the technical part from the kitchen, the XXL table embodies the dining room. A dining area has also been installed as an extension of the work plan, ideal for having breakfast on the go. Thus without losing its unity, the room offers a lot of functions.

The XXL table can accommodate up to 10 comfortable cutlery, a real plus that allows owners to receive family and friends without adding an extra table.

Noble materials for a unique cuisine

Every piece of furniture in this kitchen marry the lines of the house. These custom fittings, modeled by the artisans of William Concept, are in agreement with the chic country atmosphere which emanates from the family home. Question materials, all the amenities are in maple : a essence as robust as oak, able to go through the years without moving too much. This wood also has few knots for a smoother look, once painted. White Carrara marble chosen for the work plan brings meanwhile a light touch to the amenities. It marries without problem with the old teak the XXL table and the dining area installed at the end of the island. Even the soil benefits from beautiful materials. Boards of oak wagons were recovered and turned into a floor. As much for aesthetic as practical reasons, a carpet of cement tiles slipped behind the island. This coating is more suitable than a parquet for the wet area of the sink. In passing, he enhances the decor with a welcome printed note.

The central island is the centerpiece of the kitchen, offering a full view of the dining room. In addition, it concentrates the three main project subjects: old wood, maple and Carrara marble.

Colorful cuisine: a paid bias

Painting the kitchen aubergine was a bold bet. As the owners of the house wanted a rather muffled atmosphere, impossible to offer them a matte gray or immaculate kitchen. Less dark than a black but deeper than a traditional violet, the aubergine hue was imposed on all amenities. The color offers many reflections depending on the ambient brightness. With a floor also dark, it was essential tothin walls and ceiling with a white paint. An ideal backdrop for showcasing eggplant cuisine. An intense shade like this one also allows amenities to blend in completely with the decor. The American refrigerator, the oven, the piano kitchen: all appliances are stainless steel and fit naturally between the amenities. Modern comfort which does not affect the aesthetics of the kitchen.

High cupboards as low furniture are covered with an aubergine paint, elaborated especially for this project by the color designers of William Concept. The intense hue gives character to this immaculate piece.

The aubergine color personalizes the kitchen and identifies it more easily in the large living room. The oak flooring is here to accentuate the hushed atmosphere that reigns here.
