The renovation project in brief

The idea : restructure an apartment with an all-in-one cube that is both practical and aesthetic.

The place : in the 10th district of Paris, metro Château d'Eau.

The situation : on the 4th floor of a building facing east.

Area : 32 m2.

The duration of the work : 3 months.

The cost of the work : 30,000 euros.

Before work: a cloisonné apartment that needed air

When the owner took possession of the place, they did not look good. Divided in two by a wall, not carrying, this 32 m2 consisted of a main living space with a small kitchen very dated, and, under the mezzanine insecure, a bathroom micro soiled. And, on the other side of the partition, a storage room where furniture and decoration wisely waited for the renovation work.

After works: 32 m2 more functional which put in scene a black cube well thought out!

Once the partition that divided the felled space and the mezzanine destroyed, the electricity returned to standards and parquet hung and varnished point of Hungary, the bulk of the work was done. The walls left as they were saved a significant amount, a sum reinjected into the realization of the tailor-made cube, the centerpiece of the apartment. Designed by Rebecca Benichou, it was then manufactured and developed by MMD Construction.

From its laminated medium structure to its Fenix envelope - matte finish, so as not to reflect light - nothing in this cube was left to chance. In the center, a high bed has been installed, with, as a bonus, a maximum of hidden storage just below, in the hollow of the steps that lead to it.

To the right of the dressing room, the shower room has plenty of storage, also hidden in the cube. In a row, the space is optimized to the square centimeter to accommodate built-in toilets, a heated towel rail, niches laminate medium, a mini sink (Ikea), and a shower of good size with extra flat receiver, Italian style . The whole is highlighted by an elegant tile imitation marble, so chic!

In the continuity of the cube ... a kitchen between black and wood

Rarely behind the furnaces, the owner wanted a kitchen well thought, certainly, but minimalist. Wish fulfilled by the interior designer with this linear kitchen made of Ikea Metod cabinets, covered with doors in oak. As if the cube was extended along the wall, a worktop in black Laminam (ceramic tile) was laid. If it does not take much space, this kitchen still contains a refrigerator, an oven and a washing machine, just that!

A raw decoration populated with vintage pieces

Over the years, the owner has been working on furniture and other works of art that he took pleasure in disseminating in his new apartment. Side living room, a brown leather sofa aged alongside paintings and sculptures of different styles in a decidedly arty spirit. The exposed walls help to reinforce this impression.
