A loft-style renovation

DR

Light, space and a decor that perfectly mix spirit loft, wood and old stones ...

A quiet place to relax. This is how Anne qualifies this old workshop which she made her home. She discovered this abandoned industrial building in a quiet street in the center of Nieuwpoort, a historic and port city in northern Belgium. Seconded by her daughter, she throws her desires on paper, then decides to submit her renovation project to an architect friend, asking her to favor light, space and simplicity. The height under ridge was important, hence the idea of creating under the frame a "techno-city" volume, opening on a terrace. Wish heard: the ground floor now hosts intimate rooms, bedrooms and bathroom. The floor, it is fully occupied by a large living room that combines the kitchen, dining room and living room, without partition or separation stopping the eye, like a loft. The brightness is omnipresent here: the few openings added allow plenty of light to enter, and the volumes are organized to facilitate circulation and to add conviviality.
