Pierre Frey, a reference in the middle of the fabric

Nicolas Tosi / DR

Matthieu Frey has just joined the family textile business. The opportunity for the Express Styles to return to the career of Pierre Frey, starting from scratch and become a reference in the middle of the fabric.

1935: the beginning of success Pierre Frey

Raised between the love of music and objects, Pierre Frey made himself alone. At the age of 16, he attends an antique dealer in the Place de la Madeleine, in Paris. It will take him sixteen more to climb the ladder at Burger, then Lauer, and launch his mark on January 1, 1935.

1961: a big step forward for Pierre Frey

Sixteen years after the end of the war, Pierre Frey acquired the North weaving factory (labeled "Living Heritage Company" in 2009) giving it all its independence and paving the way for redemptions: Braquenié and Boussac will fall into his purse.

Pierre Frey in 2000: innovative collections

Pique of inventiveness, Pierre Frey and, later, his son Patrick combine the talents of painters or textile designers (including Ms. Frey herself, daughter of the 1930s designer René Prou) to produce their prints. In 2000, the publisher is the first to dare to put the nose out with its very technical outdoor fabrics.

Pierre Frey in 2012: the next generation is assured!

Forty years after Andree Putman set up Pierre Frey's showroom, his daughter Olivia has designed for the editor an elegant series of Trevira fiber jacquards marked with the house seal. We find his famous checkerboard. To discover in January, alongside new cushions and plaid wool chic and cozy.
