Sarah Lavoine puts Sicily in the spotlight in her first collection of tableware. The plates, bowls, goblets or the teapot are dressed in ceramic with soft colors, and so seductive. Interview of the designer-designer and presentation of the "Sicilia" collection ...
After designing furniture and decorative objects, designer Sarah Lavoine launches her first collection of tableware, called "Sicilia". Plates, bowls, goblets and a stoneware teapot capture soft shapes and pastel colors, which contrast with black and white. A so chic collection!

Why did you choose to create a table art collection?
Sarah Lavoine: I wanted to make a collection of tableware that meets all desires. The intensity of the colors and the finesse of the ceramics can be as good for a brunch in the city as a meal in the country.
You say you have drawn inspiration for this collection in Sicily. What exactly were these sources of inspiration in Sicily?
Sarah Lavoine: My sources of inspiration in Sicily come from the discovery of the vibrant colors of Sicilian landscapes.
The key shades (vintage blue and baby pink) and new shades like lime green, terracotta red and sunflower yellow play with the intensity of black and white. This contrast is enhanced by the finishes of the ceramic, both matte and shiny, perceptible both touch and sight
The colors are soft, feminine and at the same time contrast with black and white. Why this duality of hues?
Sarah Lavoine: I like playing and renewing the colors! My preferences go to white and black and some strong colors. Black, I like its strength and depth. It is relaxing, and you can marry it with bright colors for striking contrasts. In the Sicilia collection, there are my key colors such as vintage blue and baby pink but also new shades.
Plates, bowls, goblets, teapot dress ceramic. What charmed you in this noble matter?
Sarah Lavoine: The ceramic, manufactured by Jars, allowed me to obtain finishes both matte and bright, perceptible both touch and sight. This is what immediately pleased me in this material to the urban and authentic aesthetic.
