Plants needed to create a winter grove:

- Nandina domesticated (planted plant)

- Cornus mindwinter fire (plant x 3, planted on the right, 2nd shot)

- Mahonia charity (yellow buttons, planted on the left, 2nd plane)

- Hellebore (Christmas rose, white, foreground)

The steps to create a winter grove:

1. Remove the plant from the container

2. Incise on the root ball

3. Immerse the mound

4. Dig a hole making 2 X the volume of the root ball. Break the bottom of the hole

5. Place gravel for drainage

6. Mix potting soil and soil garden (50% earth gardener, 30% potting soil, 20% amendment)

7. Place the plant

8. Complete with the mixture

9. Pack with hand or transplanter to form a small bowl

10. Water abundantly

11. You can place mulching
