Portrait of comedian Marc Jolivet

DR

Interview Marc Jolivet, a humorist-philosopher who can not help but clown! Few furniture, pictures of him everywhere, and music!

Direction the 14th arrondissement of Paris where Marc Jolivet is home. This is a neighborhood he loves and he has remained faithful to with few exceptions. In the 70s, he and his brother Jean, at the time of their duet, lived there and shared their apartment "like lovers". He opened the doors of his apartment: a universe stripped to get to the point ... He does not like objects, he loves pure space.

Your favorite room where you like to be and spend time?

Marc Jolivet: My office of course, or more exactly my bedroom-office. This is my space. I sleep very little - only 4 to 5 hours because I need to work at night. This room is very sober with just a desk installed facing the window, which allows me to see the roofs of Paris, and on the walls, more than 2,000 DVDs and 300 books. There is a wooden bed with a futon, a huge TV and two fatboys (pouffes) black. And I forgot the essential: my "giralion" imitation beast skin that measures approximately 1.50 m long and 60 cm high. It is an animal half lion-half giraffe that was a part of the decor of the play "Waiting Lucie" and that I adapted from the film of my brother Pierre "At the time when big cats will drink". After the show, I wanted to keep it.

This strange animal was part of the decor of a play by Marc Jolivet.

Your furniture: rather modern, ultra design, family, pitcher?

Marc Jolivet: Modern. I do not like overloaded pieces of furniture, I like what is pure. At home, there are only essential things, except a beautiful driftwood worked by my brother Jean.

The most unusual or unexpected that can be discovered at home?

Marc Jolivet: There are some big pictures of me on some walls, taken by Gerard Rancinan, one of the greatest artists of our time, who became a friend. It's an absolute narcissism but I love it. My daughter says to me, "Dad, you can not leave all these pictures." It makes me laugh a lot! (Laughter)

An object or piece of furniture that you could not separate?

Marc Jolivet: The dartboard stuck to the wall. I am a great player. I play ping-pong, golf, tennis. I need to relax ...

Your favorite color in your home?

Marc Jolivet: The White. I like my apartment to be as bright as possible.

Your last favorite purchase for the house?

Marc Jolivet: A dart board with a new frame!

The kitchen, rather open or closed?

Marc Jolivet: Very open. Unfortunately, I'm not a good cook. My specialties: bacon eggs and spaghetti.

And the TV, which room?

Marc Jolivet: I only look at her in my office room. Absolute ban in the living room!

What are you missing most on tour?

Marc Jolivet: My world and especially "my space" because when I write, I need music and television for my neurons to be disturbed.

Do you live with music or rather in silence?

Marc Jolivet: Music (cry of the heart). This is what I miss most on tour: to put the music to the bottom. I listen to everything! Beethoven, Bartok, Stromae, ...

What is on your bedside table?

Marc Jolivet: I never had a bedside table! On my desk, there are currently DVDs of films selected for Caesar that I have to watch to vote, books of Cioran (I'm studying for a next show), my computer, batteries, pencils, two Bottles of water.

Do you dream of one more room? If so, for what purpose?

Marc Jolivet: A gym with a real ping-pong table!

Rather orderly or messy?

Marc Jolivet: I was more messy before, but I grew up. I like to improve ... but I'm not crazy.

Are you green plants, flowers, balcony, terrace, garden?

Marc Jolivet: Not at all ! I am a man from the ocean.

Your addresses or favorite brands for the home?

Marc Jolivet: My bookseller, The Tree Letter, 14 rue Boulard in the XIVth.
