Where does Laura Tenoudji, Télématin's web columnist, live?

Lydie Bonhomme

A busy comeback for Laura Tenoudji, aka Laura of the Web. A columnist on Télématin on France 2 since 2000, she will join Sophie Davant's new program scheduled for the end of the year. Interview chrono between two appointments to talk about the decor of his house.

It is in Suresnes that Laura Tenoudji found the rare pearl 5 years ago. With a British cottage look, this hybrid home is located in a residence surrounded by trees. Seduced by chance in front of this house, she does not return to find a small ad describing exactly what good: an "apartment as a house."

Some work was needed and on the decorative side, Laura likes change. Our interview was timely because she is just trying to renew the furniture of her living room: the opportunity to share her best addresses that are not only on the Web!

Have you entrusted your work to a professional?

Laura Tenoudji: I used a very talented interior designer, Laurent Benkemoun: he excels at working the lights and transforming a room. He is a true artist with amazing creativity. He really pays attention to the feelings of each person. In the bedroom, he made me choose above the headboard, a small garland to avoid strong lights.

The most unusual or unexpected that can be discovered at home?

Laura Tenoudji: The kitchen which is huge can surprise. But the most unusual is the cathedral living room with a height of 6 meters under ceiling. The tip of the architect was to suggest me to put a glass floor for the mezzanine part. We keep the depth and the light with a very design touch. This is where I installed my office.

Your favorite room where you like to be and spend time?

Laura Tenoudji: When I work, I like being in my office but cooking is a place I like a lot! My son does his homework and I get a lot, that's where we dine with friends. There is a living room-stay but in the end, I only receive twice a year. The asset of this room is to give on a terrace with lots of jasmine and roses. It's very bucolic.

Can you describe it?

Laura Tenoudji: I had everything broken by removing a room to make a huge room of 35 m2. Gray and white are the dominant colors. For the central island where the hobs and the worktop are inserted, I chose Zimbabwe granite, very thick black. Above is a false ceiling that creates a warm atmosphere and the credence is based on mirrors. The room is very bright. The two big radiators are painted the same color as the walls in a chalkboard-like painting on which you can write with chalk ...

A dish unexpectedly on the go for your friends? Your specialty?

Laura Tenoudji: I cook simple: I play the product first! According to my inspiration, I will make a big salad with avocados, old tomatoes with burrata di bufala, or a foie gras burger with balsamic vinegar and coriander.

Your furniture: rather modern, ultra design, family, pitcher?

Laura Tenoudji: At home, I grew up in a modern atmosphere so my interior is rather contemporary with some surprising works, like the bar codes of Jean-Paul Albinet. There is also a lamp that I love with shoe trees as a foot.

An object or piece of furniture that you could not separate?

Laura Tenoudji: I try not to attach too much to objects. Likewise, I like to change places. For me, it is not at all anxiety because everything has to move. But there are two objects that I particularly like. A huge golden pot with a false plant: he follows me everywhere. My grandmother, who was close to me, had offered it to me: she was an interior decorator.

And then a painting that has an incredible story. With a father art publisher and a painter's mom, I was immersed in a cultural environment. As a teenager, I had bought a postcard from Hervé Di Rosa in Beaubourg, "The Gardens of Allah", I had a crush on this painting that I reproduced on my diaries Quo Vadis. A few years later, when my father took over a background of art: this painting was part of it. And two years later for my 30 years, it surprised me to offer it to me.

"Di Rosa's painting that fascinated me when I was a teenager ..."

Your favorite color in your home?

Laura Tenoudji: The White. The paintings, the sculptures or some objects are enough to give touches of color.

Your last purchase - useful or futile! - for the House ?

Laura Tenoudji: From my holidays in Umbria, I brought back a dozen cups, hand painted: their particularity is to have a lid to keep the coffee warm. It's a restaurant called "Chez Assou" located in a small village, with lots of books and pictures on the walls. We eat a divine cuisine, only prepared from very simple products. And the hostess sells the dishes. To buy her cups, it was a way to bring home a little home! I love giving meaning to my purchases.

Other purchases in anticipation?

Laura Tenoudji: As I will soon have a cat: I buy for him right now! And especially I want to change my bed, my leather sofa gold that does not fit me and my metal coffee table 70s, inherited from my parents! I am therefore in full search with a real crush for the sofas of Caravan.

And the TV, which room?

Laura Tenoudji: Although working on TV, I do without it. There is only one in my room. To follow the news, I look at everything on my tablet!

Do you live with music or rather in silence?

Laura Tenoudji: In music ! I am open to all genres but I only listen to music that makes me feel good! With my little boy, I will choose Kendji Girac and then I can go on jazz, variety, classic. When I like a song, I can listen to it in a loop. At the moment, I love Imany! I have a connected bulb that I can change the lighting color, which is pregnant even if it is not the best sound! But the most sublime speakers in terms of design and sound are those of Devialet!

Rather candle or rather perfume of atmosphere?

Laura Tenoudji: I collect candles. My favorites are those of Astier de Villatte: they evoke fragrances from big cities: Hollywood, Jerusalem, New Delhi ... Their shop on rue Saint-Honoré gives the impression of being a former pharmacy.

Curtains, doors, shutters? What does it inspire you?

Laura Tenoudji: I have been in this house for five years and I still have no curtains. I do not mind because I enjoy the view of the trees around.

What is on your bedside table?

Laura Tenoudji: Books started and unfinished! I started "The Spirit of Judaism" by Bernard-Henri Lévy and "Désorientale" by Négar Djavadi (Liana Levi), a story recommended by my colleague, Olivia de Lamberterie.

And the library?

Laura Tenoudji: She is in the living room. I put away all my books but also put my objects and little trinkets. For example, there is a signed drawing of Plantu. All have a meaning ... For my 40 years, I had asked each of my friends to offer me a book with a note.

A deco trick or storage?

Laura Tenoudji: My bed is safe! I have always taken beds with storage that I choose on the site Allomatelas.

Rather orderly or messy?

Laura Tenoudji: Mid-ordered, half-messy! I grew up with a maniacal dad: nothing was hanging out! My interior is very modern with white walls and stripped but we are not in a magazine of deco! I need to give life and I accumulate a lot. In my office, it's an organized brothel!

My favorite room: my office.
