Where does Louis Bodin live, the TF1 weather presenter?

Specialist of meteorology, Louis Bodin has a secret boot, the decor! So nothing surprising that his house is a cocoon of conviviality. End of work visit at an epicurean, loving nature. Interview on the occasion of the publication of his new book "When the weather makes history" at Albin Michel.

Louis Bodin, the media "Mr Weather" that can be found in the newsletters of TF1 and RTL, has another passion, that of the environment, to which he devotes the broadcast "Grand Angle" on the Ushuaia channel. But the decor does not leave him indifferent.

Creator of atmosphere, this is how he likes to define himself when he evokes the construction of his house that he is about to complete. To make something new with old, such was the bet of Louis Bodin. It is in a residential area of western Paris that he managed to modernize a pavilion of the 70s in an architect's house.

Initially, he had no hesitation to make a clean sweep of the existing. Like his partner, he knew what he wanted. To carry out this six-month project, he relied on the expertise of a professional, attentive to his technical solutions, particularly in the choice of materials. Exclusive visit for Côté Maison, even before the housewarming!

Your favorite room where you like to be and spend time?

Louis Bodin: This is what I call the room of conviviality, that is to say a space with corners to listen to music, share a drink, a meal, in short it is a piece in its entirety with perspectives, but who allows you to see both the kitchen and the outside! Before, everything was partitioned. But for me, it was fundamental to succeed this piece that brings together all the acts of the day - meals, discussions, laughs ... - Whether I'm alone, with two, with family or with friends.

Your furniture: rather modern, ultra design, family, pitcher?

Louis Bodin: It's a mixed race. I did not want to fall into the trap of the very purified who can be cold. Overall, it's pretty design while keeping a friendly side, playing with the materials to bring small touches of color. It is necessary to create an alchemy by working the lighting, whether with leds, dimmers to change the mood according to the times of the day. It is by investing the place over the months we will certainly evolve or even replace some furniture ...

Your favorite color in your home?

Louis Bodin: There are three key materials: stone, glass and wood flooring. The base is the anthracite color of the stone, softened by reds and oranges to enhance certain places. The sides of white walls alternate with others painted in color; finally I also played with smoked mirrors to enlarge the space.

The most unusual or unexpected that can be discovered at home?

Louis Bodin: I hate the ostentatious and I do not like an object to focus attention. My goal is to be caught up in a general atmosphere. I wanted to create a harmonious atmosphere, a cocoon where you feel good. The message is "Come"! Certainly, we made this place for us, but especially to share it.

An object or piece of furniture that you could not separate?

Louis Bodin: No, curiously no object has ever followed me. Because I've evolved in terms of taste and I'm not the same as 20 years ago, even though my core values are the same. So, my decor elements are different and I have not kept much. In fact, I am a pleasure of life.

Your last purchase - useful or futile! - for the House ?

Louis Bodin: A large glass lamp that can be placed on the floor, it is wood and polished green, slightly colorized.

The kitchen, rather open or closed?

Louis Bodin: Before the kitchen was a closed place with the guests apart. Today, it is open: we share, we help, we nibble. Which is the case for me, but it is important to evolve it and to isolate it, because of the noise and smells. Everything is relatively hidden but immediately usable with a central island.

Eating on the go must remain anecdotal; it is important to take the time to ask, to appreciate to set up a beautiful table, to put a tablecloth. So there is a real dining room with a large glass table and clean chairs.

A dish unexpectedly on the go for your friends? Your specialty?

Louis Bodin: Unannounced, I will make an assortment of cheeses with a good bottle of wine, otherwise I will have taken the time to go to my caterer. If I like dating starred, I do not know how to cook!

And the TV, which room?

Louis Bodin: It is obviously present because it is my job and I like to watch it. There is one in the office and another in the living room. Its layout is still under study because I do not want it to be too visible. Maybe we'll hide it or hang it on the wall.

Do you live with music or rather in silence?

Louis Bodin: Rather in classical music, but it can be Bruce Springsteen thoroughly or the latest discovery. It all depends on my mood and the moment.

Rather candle or rather perfume of atmosphere?

Louis Bodin: I like both. The advantage of candles, they create a real atmosphere.

Curtains, doors, shutters? What does it inspire you?

Louis Bodin: I'm not too curtain but you have to put some. Question of intimacy. I am a cityman by obligation but a provincial in the soul, and I need to see the garden, the sky ... Here, these are pretty draperies which come to underline the frame of the doors windows, with light materials like the flax, others in heavier matters. I opted for large integrated openings, with an extension to the terrace.

What is on your bedside table?

Louis Bodin: The book of the moment, "The power of joy" by Frédéric Lenoir

Do you dream of one more room? If so, for what purpose?

Louis Bodin: I would like a real movie theater.

Rather orderly or messy?

Louis Bodin: Ordered.

Are you green plants, flowers, balcony, terrace, garden?

Louis Bodin: I am not too green plants indoors, but the garden is fundamental. I hope to make a landscaped terrace part with a grass area and some trees - conifers - and also flowers. I would like to create a Tuscan atmosphere ... and that it is an invitation to spread on the lawn.
