"Do not forget" is the message of peace that Lisa Angell will sing in Vienna on May 23, 2015 at Eurovision. If representing France is an honor, it is also a magical adventure and a challenge that the singer hopes to win. For this fan of Feng Shui who has lived in China, his attraction to Asian culture is not new. Interview zen and intimately in his Paris apartment in the 15th arrondissement, a few days before the day!
Direction the 15th arrondissement of Paris. It's only been a year since Lisa Angell, who grew up in Nice, of an Italian-born father, settled in the capital, after a four-year experience in China. There, she lived in the urban gigantism of Macau and even experienced the traumatic experience of a 15-strong typhoon (hence the title of the single from her album).
Since her return, she enjoys the proximity of Georges Brassens Park: a nice wink for a singer! Lisa started performing at the age of 15 in piano bars on the Côte d'Azur. Then follow a brief passage in Paris and beautiful meetings. On her way, she meets Didier Barbelivien, Patrick Sébastien ...
Today, the release of his album and the adventure of Eurovision have enough to give him wings. But Lisa Angell cultivates an art of living and well-being. At home, the furniture is Chinese and Japanese: everywhere statuettes, a Buddha hanging on the wall, vases, calligraphies and candles. Whether in the choice of colors and the place of objects, nothing is left to chance because it applies the principles of feng shui.
Your favorite room where you like to be and spend time?
Lisa Angell: My bedroom. This is my place: 100% Zen atmosphere. I have a futon bed with candles and very few objects.
A Feng Shui advice?
Lisa Angell: Always orient the bed facing a door! For the quality of his sleep, do not put a television in the room and have as few objects as possible, and especially no red curtains!
Your furniture: rather modern, ultra design, family, pitcher?
Lisa Angell: Asian furniture with sober lines, dark wood. When I lived in Nice, with my first savings, I had already bought furniture and Chinese objects, always by crush.
The most unusual or unexpected that can be discovered at home?
Lisa Angell: My electric piano that is in the middle of the living room. If I had more room, I would obviously have a grand piano!
An object or piece of furniture that you could not separate?
Lisa Angell: It is a rectangular calligraphy in black ink: the edge is ecru, the red background. I bought it a few years ago in Nice. Its meaning that I learned later is "prosperity, love and peace in the house". She follows me everywhere. When I left to live in China, I rolled it in my suitcase. Today she is hanging in my room.
Your favorite color in your home?
Lisa Angell: Black and red.
Your last purchase - useful or futile! - for the House ?
Lisa Angell: I just bought a very beautiful Chinese furniture for my entry! It is a futile purchase but made useful because I use it as a shoe cabinet. It has two sliding doors and shelves inside that allow me to store a dozen pairs. What makes it original are the designs on the doors that remind us of small windows.
The kitchen, rather open or closed?
Lisa Angell: Mine is closed but I love open kitchens to stay with friends. It is very functional, and everything is well organized so you do not waste time. With high furniture, it offers lots of storage because I like everything in its place. Meals are taken in the living room. As soon as the dishwasher is finished, everything is immediately stored.
A dish unexpectedly on the go for your friends? Your specialty?
Lisa Angell: Given the promotion period, there will be spaghetti with tomatoes, olive oil and a little parmigiano! I love to cook, especially traditional dishes: baked lasagna, a potato gratin with a rosbeef ... I try in principle to ask my guests who they like. I enjoy Chinese cooking but you have to have time and be equipped with all the utensils. Impossible for me.
And the TV, which room?
Lisa Angell: I have one for my eleven-year-old daughter watching shows ... but, I'm not very TV.
Do you live with music or rather in silence?
Lisa Angell: Every morning, I prepare myself listening to gospel, like "Oh Happy Day" ... it gives me joy and a particular energy. I really like the classic - Mozart and Wagner - but also the French variety in which I was rocked is my culture. I have a soft spot for Calogero. At this moment, I'm doing my American pop culture with my daughter!
Rather candle or rather perfume of atmosphere?
Lisa Angell: Scented candle ! I love jasmine that embellishes my interior 99.9% of the time! It appeases me! I buy at Nature et Découvertes. I also burn a small purple incense, scent "cedar wood"! I brought some from Asia. There, it is extraordinary, the smell of incense is present everywhere, in any small shop!
Curtains, doors, shutters? What does it inspire you?
Lisa Angell: I like the gesture of closing the curtains every night. It is a very beautiful ritual, prelude to a moment of intimacy. I put red curtains in the living room. In my daughter's room, they are sky blue, her favorite color. Blue has soothing virtues. In mine, I chose a discreet color, they are light brown ... In Macao where I lived, they do not know the use of curtains. In the buildings, there are only louvers or blinds.
What is on your bedside table?
Lisa Angell: There is no object except a candle, and an essential oil from Sothys to relax. I wear it every night and I especially need to massage my legs! When I spend the day on 14 cm of heel, it is essential.
Do you dream of one more room? If so, for what purpose?
Lisa Angell: Yes, I would like to have a relaxation room with a small sauna, a whirlpool, a massage table ...
Rather orderly or messy?
Lisa Angell: I live better when it is tidy. I have always been organized and orderly. Already a child, I tidied my brother's shoes!
Are you green plants, flowers, balcony, terrace, garden?
Lisa Angell: I do not have a balcony and I am not flower because I hate to see them wither! In Nice, I bought artificial flowers. When offered, I give them around me. My only exceptions are lily of the valley and orchids. I keep my dried lily of the valley in my wallet from one year to the next, and my secret for orchids: I talk to them! For years, I have the same orchid that bloomed again.
And what I love more than anything is bonsai. I am unfortunately not good at keeping them so I opted for a fake plastic: it has a black trunk and full of small red leaves ... I found it in a pretty decoration shop on the port of Saint-Raphaël .
Your addresses or favorite brands for the home (shopping, decoration, florist, etc.)?
