If she leads a life of acrobat and loves to live in the hotel, Evelyne Leclercq considers her Paris apartment as her base camp. Direction the 7th arrondissement in his Parisian duplex. Interview around an aperitif dinner: his specialty!
When she is not touring or gala, Evelyne Leclercq likes to escape to the south of France, in Cannes, where she has family ties, which allows her to devote herself to gardening and DIY. But it is his Paris apartment in the 7th arrondissement, which remains his anchor and where she likes to meet.
It must be said that after living here for forty years, its neighborhood has the appearance of a village thanks to the charm of the street market Clerc, open 7 days a week. When she made the choice to settle here, it was the time of "15 rue Cognac Jay" and its debut at the ORTF! So she feels a little family and when she does her market, she knows all the traders and takes the time to a little word with everyone.
By taste, she likes modern buildings and contemporary furniture. By professional deformation, she admits having a weakness for the mirrors she has largely decorated the two floors of her duplex. Friendly visit, smile in your voice!
What are you missing most on tour?
Evelyne Leclercq: When I was young, I wanted to be a stewardess on long haul! I like to lead this life of mountebank. I do not miss anything because I like life in hotels. I counted that in six days, I changed six times bed ... My Paris apartment is the base camp from which I navigate.
Your favorite room where you like to be and spend time?
Evelyne Leclercq: The entrance leads directly to the living room. But it's in the bedroom and office that I spend most of my time, especially since I turned my daughter's bedroom into an office and dressing room. It is accessed by descending a beautiful staircase decorated with large mirrors.
Your furniture: rather modern, ultra design, family, pitcher?
Evelyne Leclercq: I am allergic to the old and it would have been impossible for me to live in a Haussmann apartment! In the same way, I never do flea markets except to walk around: all the silver housewives I inherited from my grandmothers are in the cellar and I do not know what to do!
I have a lot of lacquer furniture of the Mahé brand - gold and black in the living room, and white-ivory in the bedroom -. It is a line of contemporary furniture that no longer exists. I also have parts from Roche Bobois.
There are mirrors everywhere: in the descent of stairs, an entire wall as well as in the bathroom, a wardrobe with sliding doors; in the living room, I also had a mirror made to measure that I hung high-top of the black lacquered buffet ... I think it reassures me. No doubt, a professional deformation.
The most unusual or unexpected that can be discovered at home?
Evelyne Leclercq: A huge labrador honey, stuffed! This dog is beautiful and is more real than life: everyone misunderstands. I had played at the Variety Theater in a play by Raphael Mezrahi and he had put enormous stuffed toys in the room. At the end of the show, an auction was organized for the benefit of the SPA and I had bought 200 euros! I called him Raph!
Raph, the labrador
Another little unusual fantasy: a red Christmas wreath around the living room window, a remnant of Christmas decorations. One year, I got tired of tidying up after the holidays, so I decided to keep the garlands. I like this side funfair atmosphere.
An object or piece of furniture that you could not separate?
Evelyne Leclercq: I avoid accumulating too many trinkets, which I call the no-serves, but I am very attached to things that are each related to a memory. So, on a shelf in my room, I put my solid gold trophies (laughs) with my Seven of Gold, as well as the equivalent of the Belgian Golden Seven and recently in his show "L'oeuf ou la hen ", on D8, Cyril Hanouna made me win a golden egg.
My Seven of Gold, the Seven of Belgian gold and a golden egg given by Cyril Hanouna ...
In a general way, I have a lot of trouble separating myself from things. My dressing contains tons of clothes ... And then it takes me by crisis! Once every four years, I do a closet dump crisis ...
Your favorite color in your home?
Evelyne Leclercq: The whole apartment is painted white. There is an exception for the office where I chose on a piece of wall, a paper trellis way of garden with on the ground a green carpet grass, very petante. Other tones are given by the black and gold lacquer in the living room and white-ivory in the bedroom.
Your last purchase - useful or futile! - for the House ?
Evelyne Leclercq: Bowls I found at Bathroom Graffiti to replace the old ones that were chipped and thrown away. They are white faces in relief, they look like modern sculptures. At 20 euros each, I confess that I made myself a nice present to take my breakfast.
The kitchen, rather open or closed?
Evelyne Leclercq: Unfortunately closed. I would have preferred an open kitchen. Functional and warm, it is all wood, chalet atmosphere. Very bright, like all the rooms of the apartment, it gives on the balcony. By the way, often when I get friends out of the blue, instead of going to the living room, they love having a coffee, sitting on the stools or on a corner of the dryer!
A dish unexpectedly on the go for your friends?
Evelyne Leclercq: I am the champion of dinner aperitifs most often Greek-Lebanese! I am lucky to have one of the best Greek caterers in Paris, which was inaugurated by Nikos (Aliagas). So, I always have delicious Greek products in the freezer! All washed down with very good wines, especially white or rosé.
And the TV, which room?
Evelyne Leclercq: One in the living room and another in my room, but these are not big screens.
Do you live with music or rather in silence?
Evelyne Leclercq: In depth on RTL! I know the programs by heart and I am incollable on the news.
Rather candle or rather perfume of atmosphere?
Evelyne Leclercq: When I'm home. Lighting candles every night is a real ritual. I like scented candles but I also burn some species that I bring back from Morocco. I really like the scents of rose, musk, jasmine and amber.
Curtains, doors, shutters? What does it inspire you?
Evelyne Leclercq: I am allergic to curtains, double curtains and sheers! I am lucky to have large windows and a balcony on each floor. It's important for me because I need to go out and breathe. In the evening, in my room, I close the shutters at the last moment: I like the view on the outside and the lights of the night.
What is on your bedside table?
Evelyne Leclercq: A small statue of the Virgin of Lourdes in plastic, which has followed me everywhere for forty years. She has made millions of kilometers! At the theater she is in my box; at sea, the summer when I go sailing, I fix it to the mast ...
Being very religious, I am very attached to this memory of Lourdes, perhaps a gift ... I confess that I do not know any more. It measures a dozen centimeters and could contain holy water. The head serves as a stopper but since time, it no longer works. Can not find the same model!
I also have three picture frames: my parents, my brother and me; my daughter and finally a triptych of my three grandchildren, when they were babies.
A deco trick or storage?
Evelyne Leclercq: As I love shoes, I found a storage trick. These are hangers that can be found at Ikea. They are held with cloth lockers. By support, I can put away sixteen pairs of shoes! I put three, side by side. It is an extraordinary space saving and super convenient.
Do you dream of one more room? If so, for what purpose?
Evelyne Leclercq: Yes I would like to develop a nice room of friend who would be more pleasant and practical than to make sleep the friends on the sofa bed of the living room.
Rather orderly or messy?
Evelyne Leclercq: I am rather orderly and I like that it is tidy ... There is only one exception, it is when I go on a trip! I do not know how to pack and for 24 hours, I spread everywhere to prepare my things.
Are you green plants, flowers, balcony, terrace, garden?
Evelyne Leclercq: Every month, I'm on tour ... I'm leaving, I'm coming back. In the past, I had trees but they did not resist, so I gave up because I do not have time to take care of it anymore. On the other hand, my balcony serves me as a pantry especially to preserve fruits and vegetables ...
Your addresses or favorite brands for the home (shopping, decoration, florist, etc.)?
- My Greek caterer called Costa and also restaurant: Apollon, 24 rue Nicot, Paris 7th.
- I love to go digging at Bathroom Graphiti and Habitat. There are always good little things to do.
- My cave of Ali baba, Castorama: I can spend a whole day there. Cannes is one of the largest in Europe. In Paris, I have one too in the 15th. When I'm in the south, I tinker, I always have brushes in my hand, I paint, I varnish ... I garden, I buy earth for my plantations.
