R & G
Interview of Laurent Boyer, host on RTL and France 3, who lives in a house-liner. Visit or rather boarding in the world of Laurent Boyer ...
Laurent Boyer took a long time before leaving the heart of Paris. He who loves the sea and the open spaces, needed to breathe. It is in Rueil-Malmaison that it has docked for almost 20 years! Because the house he has entirely designed and which he designed all amenities, evokes the appearance of a large boat like Le Corbusier.
At Laurent Boyer, everything is designed to favor light and fragrance, both indoors and in the garden. Confidences: he would have liked to be nose. Endless on the subject, he is also passionate about decoration. A subtle arrangement.
Did you draw the plans for your house?
Laurent Boyer: It fascinated me. I visited at least 1,000 houses and drew about sixty different plans. My house looks like brick Boston homes with a zinc roof. But if it was to do again today, I would do differently! What is fashionable goes out of fashion, I prefer to choose what suits me. This interior looks like me, it soothes me and visually delight me.
I imagined and studied all the facilities to optimize the practicality. In the bathroom upstairs, I have a laundry that arrives directly in the laundry basket on the ground floor! Spaces were created based on my mobility.

Your favorite room where you like to be and spend time?
Laurent Boyer: I am lucky to have a large room on several levels, with a very high frame. Everything is white with light oak. I love being in this living space where are the kitchen and living room with a huge fireplace. I like big spaces: I could live in a factory because of the volume but I can also adapt and sleep in 4m2!
Your furniture: rather modern, ultra design, family, pitcher?
Laurent Boyer: I do not have any. My interior is like a boat bridge ... I like wood, light and bricks. I have a large library of 9 meters, inserted in the wall, and in the living room, there are 19 seats in black leather, very wide.
The most unusual or unexpected that can be discovered at home?
Laurent Boyer: My house itself. It looks like a liner. This is not the concrete and cold spirit of Corbusier. Even if it is empty, it is warm with a sensual tone and soft by the light wood inside.
An object or piece of furniture that you could not separate?
Laurent Boyer: There is nothing at home. No furniture, no trinkets. The old furniture bores me and I do not like fuss. I like empty spaces, it rested me.
Your favorite color in your home?
Laurent Boyer: Everything is white: the walls, the frame ... except the seat cushions in black leather.
The kitchen, rather open or closed?
Laurent Boyer: The kitchen is open and part of the place of life. It is accessed by three small steps.
And the TV, which room?
Laurent Boyer: A big screen in the living room.
Do you live with music or rather in silence?
Laurent Boyer: The silence. I like nothing.
Are you rather candle or rather scent of atmosphere?
Laurent Boyer: The dream of my life would have been to be nose, or Cousteau. The smell is my universe. I'm sick of fragrances, I sniff everything, a book, a record ... I have about fifty perfumes that I mix; it makes me happy. At home, I love to have multiple smells, in each room ... I obviously love scented candles but some smells like tuberose, have a repellent effect. I buy myself the rue de la Paix at the Park Hyatt-Paris Vendôme by buying the perfume created especially for the hotel by Blaise Mautin, or I order the scents of immortals of the domain of Murtoli, which belongs to a childhood friend. Sometimes I also use Puressentiel 41!
What is on your bedside table?
Laurent Boyer: I do not have a night table. Just a headboard with over books everywhere. I have a lot of history magazines, pocket books ... My room is like a boat cabin with zippers, doors, large windows, sail lights.
Do you dream of one more room? If so, for what purpose?
Laurent Boyer: No, my house suits me. I do not need anything else. I feel very good. It's my only place of intimacy where I'm not exposed. I catch myself talking about it.
Rather orderly or messy?
Laurent Boyer: My office at RTL is Beirut. I'm messy too in my car, but at home, I'm storing all the time. Nothing is lagging behind.

Are you green plants, flowers, balcony, terrace, garden?
Laurent Boyer: I have a small garden with magnificent tree species thanks to my cousin who is a landscape gardener, a family business for generations. They are mainly persistent because I do not have time to do gardening. There is a three-hundred-year-old olive tree, a Lebanon cedar, a maritime pine, a Swedish pine, a light blue Nordic pine ... My pleasure is to plant immortals that smell of curry, I love this smell that exhales as soon as there is a ray of sunshine. These are grasses found on the dunes of Noirmoutier or in the Corsican scrubland.
