How does Sophie Thalmann, a former Miss France passionate about horses and dogs, live? Reply with our ping-pong interview ...

When she is not on TV sets or radios, in France and many abroad, the host Sophie Thalmann, former Miss France, married to Belgian jockey Christophe Soumillon, dedicated to his daughter Charlie and his son Mika, and of course to his two great passions: his dogs and his horses. Last June, she published at Hachette Jeunesse, in the Pink Library, the new series of novels "My friends the horses" for 6-8 years.

Your favorite room where you like to be?

Sophie Thalmann: We live in an old house that we have transformed and that we continue to redevelop over the years. We wanted it totally open. When we enter, we are directly in the kitchen overlooking the living room and the veranda: it's a bit like a huge living room. It's really the room where I spend the most time but I feel good everywhere and I do not have a proper room.

Your furniture: rather modern, ultra design, family, pitcher?

Sophie Thalmann: We wanted to give a country house style but while remaining modern: the veranda is very bright with colors in the moles and we chose cream furniture. The kitchen is oak but it was tinted gray. And to give harmony to the whole, we repatiné some furniture that we had already, as for example, a series of small coffee tables.

The most unusual or unexpected that can be discovered at home?

Sophie Thalmann: The kitchen. It is huge and it's really our living room. As my husband loves to cook, we wanted to have fun and have a real chef's kitchen to receive our friends. There is an enormous hood with a worktop that is extended by an L-shaped table. It can hold up to ten people.

An object or piece of furniture that you could not separate?

Sophie Thalmann: My bed. I would like to take it everywhere, it's my supreme luxury. As we travel a lot with my husband, we realized that the quality of sleeping is essential. It's a question of comfort. But sometimes we can have bad surprises. Suddenly, we invested in very good bedding: we opted for a king size bed with a super mattress, full of very soft overlays and quilts feather. It feels like a cloud ...

Your favorite color in your home?

Sophie Thalmann: Parma! First there was the kitchen which is in a dominant old purple with a reminder in the chair covers. And in my room, I wanted to find this gradient of violet-parma with a mixture of gray. These are the two colors that I like to marry.

Your last favorite purchase for the house?

Sophie Thalmann: I bought a movie theater spotlight at the Hitchcock! I love this style a little industrial. I offered it to my husband. It was first installed in the living room, and now it is in the playroom that we just redone. This is a room where I had fun making walls brick way, on which I made draw tags by friends. They represent my horses, my dogs, the names of my children, the profile of my husband in the race ... there is foosball, table tennis.

The kitchen, rather open or closed?

Sophie Thalmann: The kitchen is totally open. It was made in Belgium (my husband is Belgian), not chauvinism but because I think that Belgian designers are very innovative and creative.

And the TV, which room?

Sophie Thalmann: All over ! The TV is part of my home and there is almost in every room: kitchen, bedroom, living room, office and playroom ... which is five in total. They are big and I also play with colors. I have a white for example that is based on the white wall. My daughter also has a little princess TV that allows her to watch DVD cartoons.

Are you rather candle or rather scent of atmosphere?

Sophie Thalmann: Both ! I really like candles but I love the solid perfumes that are made to burn: it is the same principle as the essential oils that are heated. It smells great all over the house. I also have sticks that are returned: the perfume diffusers. Regarding fragrances, I have a preference for what is sweet: honey, vanilla ...

Do you live with music or rather in silence?

Sophie Thalmann: There are times when I want silence - when I do not have birds singing! - but I live mostly in music. I connect to music channels.

What is on your bedside table?

Sophie Thalmann: A frame with my two children! I also have a small speaker to put my Iphone and listen to music.

Do you dream of one more room? If so, for what purpose?

Sophie Thalmann: I would dream to remake the veranda that I do not find large enough and that is completely invaded by my son's toys. We would like to find a solution to isolate it. As its structure is old, when it rains, it is very noisy and you can not get along in the house!

Rather orderly or messy?

Sophie Thalmann: Too orderly (smiles). I can not bear the bazaar and I like everything to be tidy: even if I do not prevent my children from playing, everything must be in its place. Even in my office, everything must be tidy otherwise I can not work.

Are you green plants, flowers, balcony, terrace, garden?

Sophie Thalmann: I am lucky to have a large garden with lots of flowers and I enjoy making beautiful bouquets. For green plants, alas, I'm not enough to take care of it, but I have orchids everywhere, white and parmes!
