Interview with Estelle Denis, entertainment host of TF1, companion 100% foot of the famous coach Raymond Domenech. This passionate deco who loves to hunt has opened the house of her dreams, a warm cocoon, ten minutes from Paris. Interview.
Parisian at heart, Estelle Denis has yet decided to escape the bustle and noise of the capital. Two and a half years ago she moved to the suburbs. It was through a small ad on the Internet that she found the house of her dreams. Although the entire building - a former furniture storage - was in very good condition, this passionate decorator wanted to bring its touch, not hesitating to embark on a large building site.
Today, she enjoys her new lifestyle. Just 10 minutes from Paris, she managed to create a cool atmosphere where you have to live, devoting your weekend to gardening, the market ... Halfway between the loft and the holiday home, private visit and favorite , kitchen side!
Your favorite room where you like to be and spend time?
Estelle Denis: The kitchen. His style is both industrial and jug, in shades of black and gray. What attracted me when I visited this house is the kitchen with its brick wall. I redid it from top to bottom to make it a real cozy cocoon where the whole family is found. I like the mixture of materials and the association wood-iron-bricks. I've done a lot of furniture: an old wooden buffet, an old fishmonger scale, and lots of little accessories ...

There is a large table with an iron base and metal chairs where you meet for dinner with friends; the children work there. The floor is polished concrete, the black stone worktop. I had fun with the appliance: there is a big fridge SMEG. I opted for a black piano with ovens and plates. It's a very spacious living room where you spend more time than in the living room: I listen to the radio, Raymond reads it, the children do their homework.
Your furniture: rather modern, ultra design, family, pitcher?
Estelle Denis: I like to hunt but I get tired quickly. I also have some modern furniture, especially in the living room.
The most unusual or unexpected that can be discovered at home?
Estelle Denis: I brought back from Las Vegas a 1.5 meter chewing gum dispenser with huge balls; every time a coin is put, the chewing gum rotates. And then other unusual pieces in resin: a Batman and a Mickey of the designer Fabien Verschaere. I have a passion for objects both unusual and playful.

An object or piece of furniture that you could not separate?
Estelle Denis: Chinese furniture offered by my mother for my 25 years, and who follows me everywhere. Just like an old Indian door with a very nice screen.
Your favorite color in your home?
Estelle Denis: I wanted to avoid having an all-white interior. So, there are lots of 50s pastel colors, blues, celadon green, purple ... I choose more flashy colors with accessories to enhance.
Your last purchase - useful or futile! - for the House ?
Estelle Denis: In useful purchase, I just bought a Thermomix! A few weeks ago, my daughter wanted me to order some home-made shelves. But I spend my time cracking for futile things: I have an incalculable number of plaids, cushions, duvet covers. I love that !

A dish unexpectedly on the go for your friends? Your specialty?
Estelle Denis: I like to receive. I can get into some cooking and cooking all day. To the good franquette, I have a pasta recipe, absolutely canon that I found in a book of the chef of Bristol and Lazare, Eric Fréchon. These are penne that are prepared as a risotto, for 20 minutes, with candied tomatoes, onions, candied peppers, pieces of chorizo, olives ...
And the TV, which room?
Estelle Denis: There is a big screen in the living room, obviously squatted by athletes for football matches, but the rest of the time, it is very rarely lit. In winter, our pleasure of Sunday night is to peck watching a football game or a movie. We are reunited with the family in front of the fireplace, with a plaid ... like little old people!
Do you live with music or rather in silence?
Estelle Denis: The radio is always on, I listen to the debates and news continuously: general radios and also music channels. So, we hardly listen to music or very little.
Rather candle or rather perfume of atmosphere?
Estelle Denis: There is a candle on every step of my stairs and everywhere in the house. I especially like the "white rhino" scent of the Baobab brand.
Curtains, doors, shutters? What does it inspire you?
Estelle Denis: I need light and openness. So I hate that! I do not like curtains and I tolerate doors ...
What is on your bedside table?
Estelle Denis: There are plenty of books, at least twenty, a running watch, lenses, a mosquito bomb, an Ipad. I just finished a book on Nadia Comanecci and I'm about to read "Criminals" by Philippe di Falco and Yves Stavridès.
And books, how do you put them away?
Estelle Denis: This is a real problem and there is everywhere. Since we are big readers, I make piles on the ground because the library is too small; I have trouble separating myself from novels. Now, when I go on vacation, I read on Ipad because they are often light readings.
Do you dream of one more room? If so, for what purpose?
Estelle Denis: Yes, I would like to have a bigger garden.
Rather orderly or messy?
Estelle Denis: I have trouble with the brothel of others, but I am less intransigent with mine! The tricks that drag me up, especially in the kitchen, but I can not help but leave bags and shoes.
Are you green plants, flowers, balcony, terrace, garden?
Estelle Denis: I am trees and vegetable garden! We have a micro-vegetable garden with herbs, small tomatoes ... With children, we love buying potted plants and they are everywhere.
