Adrienne De Malleray

Maxime Bruno / D8

Every Saturday on D8, Adrienne de Malleray presents the program "At the heart of the investigation". The journalist lives to the rhythm of the info, images and screens everywhere in her Paris apartment. As for decoration, she likes to hunt. A passion that inspires her, especially since, these days, she is renovating a farmhouse near Angers.

You are addicted to the info. As a result, screens have invaded your Parisian duplex, close to the Tuileries. In which rooms did you distribute them?

Adrienne de Malleray : It is true ! They are everywhere. We have a big screen TV in the living room, a second TV in the room: I "consume" TV, but I'm not a zapper. And then, there are no less than three iPads that wander between the kitchen, living room and bedroom. Upstairs, we also have a computer stationary. And I never go out without an iPad in my bag: it is on this screen that I flip through the press.

What is the room where you like to relax after a day's work?

Adrienne de Malleray. : On the sofa in the living room, near the window. This is where I do the session "empty-pocket": I go out of my bag, I lay on the sofa, then I sort, I tidy. Since some people first take off their coat on their way home, I start by emptying my bag.

How is the decor or decor inspiring you?

Adrienne de Malleray : I like all the interiors that allow me to travel in another universe. I like deco objects that have a history, such as this embroidered tablecloth that belonged to my great-great-grandmother: she has a past, a soul, and I'm delighted to have her at home, even if I never use it! At the same time, I am on the lookout for new talents in decoration and design: I am a fan, for example, of the "Vertigo" suspension designed by Constance Guisset and edited by Petite Friture.

At home, I love changing furniture or repainting walls. I'm also pretty good with a screwdriver: by the way, I have my own toolbox! Recently, in the Eure, I hung a pair of 1950s armchairs in a flea market: they are covered with animal skin and the feet are horn-shaped.

Books also have a place of choice at home ...

Adrienne de Malleray : Yes, because they also tell stories. And then I find that books give a lot of atmosphere to a room. They create a real atmosphere.

The armchairs joined a selection of objects that never leave me, such as a double-sided drawing signed Combas, which I had framed so that it can be seen from both sides. Or my hat collection: to each of them corresponds a trip, a distant destination where I went.

You are restoring a farmhouse near Angers, the region where you come from. Where are you at the level of works?

Adrienne de Malleray : They are just beginning. But I go there several times a month to speed up the site and stroll through the flea markets around, including that of Angers that takes place every first Sunday of the month.
