A peaceful holiday home in Italy

.

Frederic Vasseur

A holiday house tinged with white opens its arms to lovers of tranquility ... And beautiful Italy. Siesta on the sweet terrace and strolls through each floor of this dream home; here we live to the rhythm of the Dolce Vita ... that we discover in pictures.

On the west coast of Apulia, Italy, a holiday home offers its immaculate white outline in the protective shade of ancient olive trees. Shared in three houses with elaborate rusticity, this dream home dedicated to lovers of simplicity and authenticity praises for a happiness to live in-out on these washed sea and dried by wind.

Sometimes ocher, sometimes almost red, this rich and carnal land meanders between the sky and the endless beaches of the Ionian Sea. In the round, under the hills underlined with blue, abound the brooms in flower. A landscape of Italy in turn limpid and mysterious from which emerge among the dunes beaches with translucent waters.

The collections of demijohns, crockery and farm implements hung on the walls affirm the spirit back to the sources.

Two kilometers from this seaside area, the Masseria Scorcialupi lets discover its immaculate contours and its heavy wooden doors concealed by five acres of olive trees secluded surrounded by authentic dry stone walls. Upon arrival in this old farmhouse of the eighteenth century, the feeling of calm is soothing. Suffice to say that the masonry benches covered with mattresses and cushions are an invitation to stroll, just to immerse yourself, to blink your eyes as you put your toe before diving into the water ...

Fatally, appears at this moment the owner of the place, Francesco Chimienti. Flamboyant Fifth, he has not forgotten anything of the time when he was traveling with his grandfather these generous lands, dreaming that one day he would exploit the estate in his turn. Sometimes things go at random.

Unless providence tricks his tricks. The time of a generation, the masseria was a little left in oblivion. He, the child of Apulia, shone elsewhere of a good career of lawyer. There was the lack, the once pampered soil that perished ... So, as a strategist, Francesco managed, just two years ago, to transform the family home into a majestic house for rent. Arranged in three dwellings respecting the traditions and original volumes, the place has become an idyllic setting for holidaymakers looking for authenticity.

Immaculate whitewashed walls, arches and stone floors, custom-made furniture in raw wood, the rural atmosphere has not left the place but has embellished a refined style skillfully set in delicate gray tint and of smooth concrete bathrooms. The pool is a must, planted in the middle of the olive groves and surrounded by day beds and benches made by Francesco. A summer retreat with authenticity fiercely preserved for moments out of time.

The raw white or gray lacquered wood gives a nice freshness to the rustic furniture of planks without depriving the houses of their original charm.

As an invitation to linger in the heart of this age-old olive grove, the poolside beds, covered with soft mattresses and cushions, were entirely hand-built by Francesco, the owner of this authentic masseria.

Authentic cement tiles, recovered from the site, were crimped into the smooth concrete walls of the bathroom, as decoration.
